My initial version of this costume was hand-stitched in 2018 for the "Polish the Queen" finale at Stonewall Inn. I was the first contestant in the line-up and this costume was inspired by being the star-t of the show.
When I received the invitation to compete on Camp Wannakiki, one of the runway prompts was "Signature Drag." I knew immediately that I wanted to bring this concept to the runway and I gave it this 2020 update.
The second iteration includes yellow neoprene fabric, EVA foam dowels, hundreds of rhinestones, a catsuit, and custom shoes and jewelry. I also created a star-shaped guitar using cardboard, paint, an old belt, and other trimmings.
