Dress created using hand-cut and hand-bleached upcycled denim fabrics. Matching blue up-do wig styled by the artist.
This design is a column silhouette, with an open waist, sweetheart neckline, and thoughtfully placed swatches of denim to create a hourglass on the model's body. The circle cutouts provide roundness, a benefit to the model's  rectangular frame.
A variety of techniques were applied to alter the denim including bleaching, dying, and embroidery.

Back of the dress.

I created tendrils to make the flowy portion of the skirt. I strategically placed the lighter denim--referring to both color and weight--toward to bottom of the skirt to enhance depth and movement.
