Dr. Cisse was on a mission to raise awareness of poor waste management in large institutions, including college campuses. She hypothesized that interactive and carefully considered approach to throwing away food would have a positive influence on reducing waste on campus.
When I approached this project, Dr. Cisse's signs were made with using BIC pens on copy paper. I promised her that I could create some eye-popping materials to help her with her study. To bring attention to her signs and make the process easier for the students, I doubled the size of her signs, used a heavy font, and made digital collages to represent the products that should go in each waste bin.
I created a suite of social media graphics and video using quotations from her thesis and a colorful collages. I used lined paper, construction paper, sticky notes and a variety of pens to create the drawings and text for this project.
